Starbucks - Holidays

 

DESIGN DIRECTION

 
 

In a busy season, we helped Starbucks encourage the world to slow down and notice the everyday magic that happens over a cup of coffee. Inspired by baristas writing Sharpie messages, the mini odyssey follows a pair of doodles make their way back together.

Working with Geoff Mcfetridge, we had the opportunity to craft an uniquely contemporary and arresting campaign, standing out from the norm. Leveraging the artfulness of his lines and hero the iconic drinks in a meaningful way.

So we made each of these layouts its own piece of art, thinking of the streets as an open gallery, inviting the viewer to sip on Starbucks for the holidays.

We created a system that can be strictly ruled and systematized for lots of formats but also expand and flex to maximize its impact across the spectacular bespoke placements in New York, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles. To give the impression that the entire layout was drawn with the same pen, we made every part of the design be hand-drawn, including the Startbucks logo and headline.

The global campaign spotlights simple stories of connection spanning film, to social, to OOH.
